Today I learned you're fighting/beating cancer, and I just wanted to wish you the best.  A friend's brother recently finished his treatment, and when speaking to him about the process, it seemed to me the best defensive is a positive attitude.  I know it's easy to say, but you seem to have that type of attitude.  I'm sure in the not too distant future you'll be and enjoying the sunshine / rain and taking a ribbing for whatever we get.  Again wishing the very best.

How great to see you on tonight's CTV news!  Not until you mentioned how much you valued prayers, thoughts, support, etc., did I realise you might like to know that years ago, I formed a nightly habit to pray for all those who would need my prayers that night and on the following day.  So, throughout your journey to date, you now know you have been prayed for particularly when you have needed it - and will continue to be.  I have often wondered how you have been faring, and have enjoyed reading all your messages this evening.  Keep soldering on, Anwar.  You have more people pulling for you than you could possibly know.  You should also know I am remembering your wife and family.  Too often, the fact that our loved ones are part of the journey seems to be totally forgotten, yes, even by the medical profession in many cases.  I wish for all of you, whatever you feel you have need of most.  I'm neither on twitter nor facebook, but, somehow, I shall find this link again (it took me a while.  I am not very computer literate!) and shall rejoice to see that your journey continues, as you say, with one step leading to another, until you can say, that, for the time being anyway, your journey has come to a successful end - and we can enjoy your forecasts as part of OUR day - as well as part of yours.

Hang in there, from one of your faithful followers on CTV.

Anwar I was speaking with Col Devall at the Warriors Day Parade. My mother comented that she wishes the station would give out more information on you and how you are doing. he said that what he knew you would be back on the air in no time and that you are a special person to him as one of his weather kids.

I wish you well and contiued success on this journey and am now keeping my mother more informed on your progress.

Hi! Anwar,
Saw you today on the news.  Just want you to know I read your latest addition here.  My son, who is 52, is going through raidiation and chemo too.  He never smoked but he played in bands in clubs for years.  Second hand smoke.  His cancer is in his throat.  He's in  his 4th week of treatment and has another 3 weeks to go.  Why him?  Why you?  We'll never be able to answer this question.  God Bless you and I hope you return to good health soon. I also pray to God for my son's recovery. Elizabeth

Anwar you're amazing.  Your positive attitude will get you through all these treatments and illness.  I pray for you daily that your health will soon be restored.

I was diagnosed 10 years with high sugar in the blood and am now currently on 4 insulin injections a day.  Diabetes is another one of diseases that is not easy so I can relate with you - why me?

I so enjoy reading what you're going through - you're an awesome writer.

I do miss you giving the weather on CTV - praying that all this will soon be behind you my friend.

Smiles

Hi Anwar, my husband Ken and I were so happy to see you on CTV News last night. You're looking good and I'm sure it's due in part to your positive attitude and all the prayers that are being said for you.

I enjoy your bogs and it's probably good therapy for you too to share your journey.

Keep fighting my friend !

Hello Anwar,
Hubby and I just said the other night to each other. I wonder how Anwar is doing. It has been a long time and the station has not said too much of him. There you were. Love the cap on you. Awesome. So you.  I wanted to send you a card but did not have any details. If you were out of Hospital or at home.   So we were happy to be directed to your blog of your journey. Your blog is very encouraging to all.  Keep up the faith my good man. Hubby and I are also for you in faith. I want to send you a funny card but have no idea of your last name. I know the hospital but I am sure I need a last name. We are praying for your wife and family as well. We are retired now Live up North. We are  really a fan of your. We miss your happy face around the T.V but in time. Gods time. We will be seeing more of you.

I am going to throw a big hug your way. Hubby says.
Keep the faith. Your going to be a survivor. Praying Blessings more to come for you.

Last night was the first time I had heard of your journey with cancer. We knew that we hadn't seen you on air in a while but didn't know why. I'm sorry to hear that you have had to join the "club" too.  I had surgery and radiation treatments for breast cancer two years ago and know some of what you're going through.  You seem to have a very positive attitude and that is good.  I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope to see you back with the weather forecasts very soon.  You are missed!

Hi Anwar:
I've been remiss for not blogging lately ... having a bit of a health issue myself and will know on Monday if I have to have a pacemaker.  However, I was just so thrilled to see you on the news and the video.  You look really, really great after going through a gruelling series of chemo and now radiation.  I'm sure your happy spirit and your positive thoughts have brought you through all this and it will soon just be a memory.  Please know Anwar that my husband & I continue to pray for your total healing and also know that we are very anxious to see you back on CTV!  Hope it won't be too long before that happens, but also don't rush your healing.  Continue to enjoy this beautiful sunshine while it lasts and continue to enjoy all the love that family and friends shower upon you.  Don't forget .... LIVE, LAUGH AND LOVE!!  Talk (type) to you soon!
Blessings, Carol

Hi Anwar, I just today learned of your fight with cancer.  I don't know where the time went...maybe it was summer, maybe it was family functions, but all I know is that I realized that I had not seen you in such a long time doing the weather that I had to do a google search to find out what had happened.  To my surprise, your name popped up with the word "cancer" beside it.  My heart skipped beat.  I started to read your blog and was happy to hear that things were going well and that you were well on the road to recovery.  Wishing you and your family all the best and look forward to seeing you again!

Wow, I just finished reading your blog and I'm truly moved by what has been happening to you (we did not know)....you have a great strength and positive attitude and that will go far with your healing.  Right now I am reading another blog posted by my friends daughter who is writing about her 19 yr old daughter in the hospital, she was diagnozed with a tumor on her leg that cannot be treated by chemo...so she underwent a 12 hr operation where they removed  the cancer and surrounding tissue/muscle/part of the femur and put a prosthetic bone in its place. The doctors goal is to make sure that they remove anything cancerous and leave the whole area "clean" to greatly reduce the chance of spreading or returning.  She also has one of those upbeat,  positive spirits, determined to get better as quickly as she can.  We will include you also in our prayers and look forward to the day you will be back at the station with your smiling face & jolly ways.
God Bless

Anwar,
Thank you for being so honest, up-front and transparent with your illness.  I am sure this will be an inspiration to many.  My Mom passed away 4 yrs ago with Ovarian cancer and she did not want to speak about it.  She felt she must have done something bad in life and this was her punishment.  I've often felt that speaking about an illness will help someone in some way.
My sister once met you at "Canada Blooms" and she mentioned that you are so friendly and humble.
As a faithful CTV follower, you are missed a great deal.  My prayers and thoughts are with you and loved ones during these challenging times.
Keep up the positive attitude as you are in control and not the cancer.
Thanks for keeping us posted on your progress.  God Bless.

Anwar hang in there and keep the faith!  Glad you are improving and doing so much better now!  You brought back memories when I had 25 radiation treatments for aggressive Breast Cancer, I too would close my eyes and lay still and pray through each radiation session! I received the treatments at Princess Margaret Hospital as well!  I opted out of chemo therapy, although it was strongly recommened because of the type and size of aggressive cancerous tumor which was surgically removed, as a lumpectomy...I knew my body sensitivity to drugs, chemicals, therefore, I decided it wasn't an viable option in my case!  However, many people do well with chemo, and can tolerate it.

It was my faith in God, that He would see me through that has kept me going to date. The support of my family, my positive attitude and the wonderful people whom helped me in the treatment, surgery, were an important part of my survival too!

It's was 7 years ago, and I lived to see my Grandchildren a 5 and 3 year old whom I thank God for his mercy!

Your faith, positive attitute, and change of diet, plus your wonderful family and friends support will see you through! You're an refreshing young man, and a great inspiration to all whom read your blog.  I watched you faithful on TV and hope to see you return as soon as you are up to it!  Take your time, don't rush back!

I will keep you in my daily prayers, trusting God that
all will be well for you too and you will continue on the road to total recovery!

Prayerfully,
